Spilman Member Allevato Ranked in Chambers HNW 2017
Charleston, W.Va. — Spilman Thomas & Battle (Spilman) announced that partner John F. Allevato was awarded the highest recognition for Private Wealth Law in the 2017 edition of the Chambers High Net Worth (HNW) guide, marking the first time a West Virginia lawyer has been included in the publication.
Chambers HNW is a directory of leading lawyers, accounting and tax firms, private banks, and wealth management firms. It is an international resource for wealthy individuals and families who need assistance in wealth management matters. The research process includes interviewing lawyers and their clients and collecting data on significant issues handled for clients. Additional information can be found at www.chambersandpartners.com.
Allevato's Band 1 recognition for Private Wealth Law stems from his well-established estate planning practice at Spilman. He is one of only two West Virginia lawyers included in the HNW guide.
Allevato has extensive experience advising high net worth clients, many of whom are entrepreneurs and the owners of closely held businesses. He also advises institutional fiduciaries and works closely with Spilman litigators to handle contested estates. He currently serves as Chair of the West Virginia State Bar Probate Law Committee and as West Virginia State Chair of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
Chambers HNW research found that Allevato is "technically excellent," "has a really good rapport with his clients," and that clients "have confidence in his judgment."
