Roanoke, Va. — Spilman Thomas & Battle (Spilman) announced that F. B. Webster Day was named a 2021 "Go To Lawyer" for business law by Virginia Lawyers Weekly.

A “Go To Lawyer” is defined by Virginia Lawyers Weekly as an expert in his or her field who is experienced with a record of success and can think creatively and identify all options for a client. The selection process also takes into consideration whether a candidate is a lawyer to whom other lawyers make referrals because of his or her expertise and accomplishments.

Day has been a Member attorney with Spilman since his previous firm, Melchionna, Day & Black, merged with Spilman in 2007. He serves as Chair of the firm's Banking and Finance Practice Group, and his primary areas of practice are commercial and public finance and commercial transactions.

Day is consistently recognized by Best Lawyers for excellence in his law practice, having been honored as the Best Lawyers "Lawyer of the Year" multiple times. He earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Virginia.
