  • Defending financial institutions and other creditors in litigation involving alleged violations of state and federal consumer protection laws in connection with home mortgage loan origination and servicing, reverse mortgages, credit card accounts, and consumer credit sales
  • Representing and counseling clients regarding numerous federal and state consumer protection laws, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Financial Privacy Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and the West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act
  • Serving as Spilman's relationship partner to multinational retail corporation in state and federal litigation matters
  • Defending multinational retailer in premises liability and product liability claims in state and federal courts
  • Defending corporate clients in product liability matters, data breach and mining cases
  • Serving as local counsel for pharmacies in mass tort litigation in federal and state courts
  • Represented national law firm in attorney malpractice litigation
  • Served as law clerk to the Honorable Robert B. King, Circuit Judge, United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, 2014-2015
