Mr. Brydie’s primary area of practice is litigation, with a focus on medical professional liability defense, employment and labor, and commercial litigation. He also practices in health care regulatory and corporate law.
Experience
- Representing clients in labor and employment litigation matters involving the Family and Medical Leave Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Labor Management Relations Act, the West Virginia Human Rights Act, the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act, the West Virginia Patient Safety Act, and other federal and state employment laws
- Representing clients in matters pending before state and federal courts and administrative agencies
- Drafting and reviewing employment policies and procedures
- Providing strategic advice and counseling to employers dealing with employment issues, including employee discipline, the West Virginia Medical Cannabis Act, EEO policies and practices, Family and Medical Leave Act compliance, and Americans with Disabilities Act issues
- Advising health care clients on a diverse array of matters, including health care laws and regulations, legislation, contracts, corporate governance, and litigation
- Advocating for a spectrum of health care providers before their respective professional licensure boards
- Defense of general litigation matters, including commercial, insurance, products liability, toxic tort, and premises liability
