Two Spilman Attorneys Named to 2024 NC Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” List
Winston-Salem, N.C. — Spilman Thomas & Battle (Spilman) announced that two attorneys were recognized on the North Carolina Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” list for 2024.
Lee D. Denton is a newly elected Member of the firm. His primary area of practice is litigation, with an emphasis on complex business disputes, consumer finance and banking litigation, fiduciary disputes, and appeals. He has extensive experience representing businesses and individuals in disputes involving claims of breach of contract, unfair trade practices, fraud, and fiduciary breaches in all North Carolina state and federal courts, including the North Carolina Business Court.
Denton earned his undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University and his law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. In addition to his “Rising Stars” recognition, he was named as one of Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite “Young Guns” for 2021 and 2022. He also has been included on the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch list for Commercial Litigation, Construction Law, and Litigation – Construction.
Steven C. Hemric also is a newly elected Member of Spilman. He practices in North Carolina and South Carolina with a focus on advising construction industry clients across all project stages, from bidding and contract negotiation through resolution of jobsite disputes and litigation. He also advises a variety of business clients from startups to Fortune-recognized businesses on supply chain, insurance coverage, and general transactional- and litigation-related issues that affect their businesses. He is a prolific author and presenter on construction law matters and on issues affecting minority- and woman-owned businesses in the construction industry, including in Spilman’s construction law e-newsletter, The Site Report.
In addition to his “Rising Stars” recognition, Hemric also was named to the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch list for Construction Law and Litigation – Construction. He earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from Wake Forest University.
