Winston-Salem, N.C. — Spilman Thomas & Battle (Spilman) announced that Emily R. Merritt has joined the law firm as an associate attorney.

Merritt’s primary areas of practice are corporate law and litigation. She assists clients with formation of corporations and LLCs, assists with research for estate planning purposes, and assists in all aspects of litigation matters.

Merritt earned her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Wake Forest University. She earned her law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law, where she served as Senior Notes & Comments Editor for the Wake Forest Law Review. She also served as a teaching assistant while in law school.
