Charleston, W. Va. – The law firm of Spilman Thomas & Battle, PLLC is pleased to announce John R. Teare, Jr. has joined the firm as Counsel.

Teare joins the Charleston office practicing litigation defense especially for The Battle Group – the firm’s high level litigation practice group.

He received his State Certification in 1977from Dover Police Academy. Teare graduated summa cum laude in 1987 with a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Wilmington College. He obtained his J.D. cum laude in 1990 from the University of Richmond’s T.C. Williams School of Law. In 1996, he attended the University of Virginia’s Trial Advocacy Institute.

He is admitted to the West Virginia State Bar, the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
