Roanoke, Va. — Spilman Thomas & Battle, PLLC (Spilman) announced that Harry I. Johnson, III, one of five members of the National Labor Relations Board, will deliver the lunchtime keynote presentation at its September 26th labor and employment law symposium at Hotel Roanoke. The popular SuperVision™ learning series is part of Spilman’s comprehensive approach to helping businesses maximize their human capital.

Johnson, who is originally from Roanoke, was confirmed as a member of the NLRB by the U.S. Senate this past month. He will serve in this position through August 2015.

Before his appointment to the Board, Johnson was a partner in the Los Angeles, Ca. office of the law firm Arent Fox LLP. He primarily represented management in labor and employment law matters.

The NLRB is an independent federal agency that endeavors to protect the rights of private sector employees to join together, with or without a union, to improve their wages and working conditions. The board and its members, such as Johnson, work to fairly enforce the National Labor Relations Act.
