Spilman Hosts Popular SuperVision™ Labor & Employment Law Symposium

June 21, 2024

Charleston, W.Va. — Spilman Thomas & Battle (Spilman) announced that business leaders from around the region gathered today at the firm’s SuperVision™ labor and employment law symposium.

“This is our first SuperVision in person since before the pandemic, and we’re so happy to be back at it,” said Eric W. Iskra, Chair of Spilman’s Labor and Employment Law Practice Group. “These conferences foster knowledge sharing and business networking, and the live interaction adds a dynamic that our virtual events simply can't replicate.”

The SuperVision™ series, which Spilman offers at no charge, is tailored to business owners, human resources professionals, and anyone who manages employees.

"We want to empower attendees with the tools and confidence they need to navigate ongoing changes in employment law. This year's theme is especially timely as employers face unprecedented challenges and opportunities," Iskra continued.

Themed as “The Future of Work: Legal Strategies for Employers in a Dynamic Landscape,” this year’s symposium covered critical topics such as remote work; workplace investigations; AI, emerging technologies, and privacy; union avoidance; and workplace violence.

Additionally, during the event's “Lunch and Learn” session, attendees and Spilman attorneys had lively discussions on other issues of interest, such as employee leave and accommodations; litigation trends; diversity, equity and inclusion; and wage and hour law.

Another SuperVision™ symposium will be offered in the North Carolina Triad region in late September 2024.
