Spilman SuperVision Helps Companies Prepare for High-Stakes Issues in Today's Scrutinized Business Environment
Greensboro, N.C. — Spilman Thomas & Battle (Spilman) announced that nearly 100 business leaders from the Mid-Atlantic region gathered today for the law firm's SuperVision™ symposium, which focused on helping companies prepare for bet-the-company HR compliance issues in an age of heightened media coverage.
"The media is focused on the workplace these days," said Jeffrey D. Patton, Member in Charge of the firm's North Carolina office. "We see the headlines all the time: #MeToo, workplace crimes, pay equity, jury verdicts for employees, ethics complaints, the list goes on."
"Businesses need to know how to manage personnel when faced with this increased scrutiny," he continued. "Our symposium has been designed specifically to help company executives and HR professionals identify and implement best practices and navigate the countless issues in this challenging environment."
The symposium covered topics to help attendees confidently respond to high-stakes compliance issues and litigation, such as sexual misconduct allegations, corporate internal investigations and gender pay equity.
The SuperVision™ labor and employment event series was launched in 2007 and has become a mainstay in Spilman's approach to delivering a different law firm experience. The symposia are complimentary and are offered at various locations throughout Spilman's Mid-Atlantic footprint every year.
