Spilman recently won a motion for summary decision in a federal black lung case. A dispute arose over a claimant's residence. The motion we prepared was so unassailable that the solicitor filed a notice to the judge advising that he did not oppose our motion. He conceded to Spilman that the issue we were debating was mishandled and we raised valid points in our motion that he could not dispute. This outcome will result in a savings of around $350,000 for our client.
