Spilman Works with Trade Association to Shape WV's Environmental Policies
Spilman was retained by the West Virginia Manufacturers Association for legislative representation and legal work on a proposed change to West Virginia water quality standards that affected a number of industrial facilities along the Kanawha River. Spilman provided research, wrote position papers, lobbied state legislators directly, and aided in negotiation with the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection in an effort to help our client avoid imposition of more stringent permit limits on industrial facilities, limits that were not needed to protect public water supplies.
