Litigator and Construction Lawyer Ziogas Joins Spilman
Roanoke, Va. — Spilman Thomas & Battle (Spilman) announced that Robert A. Ziogas has joined the law firm as a partner. He will split his time between the firm’s Roanoke, Virginia and Winston-Salem, North Carolina offices.
“Bob’s extensive litigation and dispute resolution experience brings a wealth of knowledge for Spilman clients within the firm’s footprint, especially those in the construction industry,” said Stephanie U. Eaton, who serves as Co-Chair of Spilman’s Construction Practice Group and Vice Chair of Spilman’s Litigation Department. “We are very pleased to have him on board in both our Roanoke and Winston-Salem offices.”
Ziogas’ primary area of practice is litigation with a focus in construction law, including, among other things, construction contract disputes, defect claims, mechanic’s liens, and payment bond claims. In addition to construction-related litigation, Ziogas is very well versed in insurance matters, commercial and business disputes, and various other civil suits in state and federal courts. He also provides general corporate and business advice toward avoiding the pitfalls that can lead to litigation, and guides and represents clients in alternate dispute resolution proceedings before arbitrators and mediators.
Ziogas is AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He is consistently selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® in the area of commercial litigation. He also is consistently included in Virginia Super Lawyers, including being named among the "Top 100 in Virginia" on several occasions.
